Fandom: Pokémon (Spoilers for Pokémon Black/White)
Characters: N, Hilda
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Artist: David Bowie
Album: Outside
Song: 'Hallo Spaceboy'
Summary: This defies everything that N thinks he knows.
This defies everything that N thinks he knows.
Pokémon are the unwilling victims of their Trainers' aggressive ambitions. Forced to battle and injure themselves and other Pokémon. They don't want this. They want to be free, to live their lives in nature, the way they were supposed to. They long for freedom.
...don't they?
He latches onto Hilda, as a symbol of all that he's fighting against. But she shakes him up. No matter how often N sees her, her Pokémon seem happy to be with her. They don't appear to feel that they're being exploited or abused. They actually...love her.
What's stranger still is that it looks like Hilda loves them, too. The relationship that N is witnessing...can it truly be based on mutual love and trust?
He's never seen anything like this. He never thought that he would.
Title: 'Do You Wanna be Free? Yes, I Wanna be Free.'

Fandom: The Legend of Zelda (Spoilers for 'Breath of the Wild')
Characters: Princess Zelda
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Artist: David Bowie feat. The Pet Shop Boys
Album: Nothing Has Changed
Song: 'Hallo Spaceboy (Pet Shop Boys Remix)'
Summary: All of Hyrule is counting on her.
The pressure is constant. Never relenting.
It's been that way for nearly all of Zelda's life. The burden of trying to awaken the power that she's supposedly inherited. Haunting her when she tries to sleep. Pressing down in her waking hours.
There's never any release. It's been driven into her mind for years: She must train. She must work. All of Hyrule is counting on her.
Sometimes, Zelda feels as though a Goron is standing on each of her shoulders. Crushing her, leaving her dispirited and despairing.
She wants to hate the women of her bloodline, for cursing her with this duty. Wants to be free of it all.
But no one else is shirking their responsibilities. They're as bound by fate as Zelda herself is.
