Prompt: 2. Different lyrics from the same song [Richard Harris: 'Camelot (Reprise)'; Camelot film soundtrack]
Title: 'Don't Let It Be Forgot'
Author:
but_can_i_be_trusted
Fandom: The Legend of Zelda
Characters: Ganondorf
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Summary: His is a name that will resound across the ages.
His is a name that will resound across the ages. It will shake every heart, like the rumble of thunder. Like an earthquake, undermining any attempt at resistance. Leaving nothing but devastation in its wake.
Ganondorf. Every syllable is weighted with an uncompromising power. The bearer of such a name will not be trifled with, for he is not one to play games.
Anyone who tries is certain to lose.
Ganondorf...it's an omen. A warning that none dare to forget. Underestimating the man who was born to this name...a surer mistake could not be made.
Those who presume to stand against him will live long enough to regret it, but only just.
They will wish that they had not.
Title: 'For One Brief, Shining Moment'
Author:
but_can_i_be_trusted
Fandom: Camelot (1967 film version)
Characters: King Arthur
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Summary: Camelot will gleam and sparkle, serving as a beacon.
Already, he has lost so much. The battle has not yet begun, but Arthur feels those losses keenly.
His beloved Queen, and his dearest friend, have betrayed him. No amount of remorse can lessen that pain, or undo what they have done.
The kingdom that he worked so hard to build into a paragon of its kind...it has been shattered. The idealist who once lived within Arthur's soul cannot believe that a dream could be so easily tarnished.
Yet even now, in what Arthur is sure must be his darkest hour...he still feels the faint kindling of hope burning deep within.
None of this will be forgotten. He's certain of it. Far down distant years, mothers will lull their children to sleep with songs that tell of a time that once was a gleaming Golden Age. Boys whose grandparents have not yet been born will grow up espousing his ideals.
In the hearts of those future generations, Camelot will gleam and sparkle, serving as a beacon. A reminder of what England...of what all the world...has the potential to be.
Whatever may come, however the coming battle ends, Arthur takes comfort in the knowledge that a dream, though damaged, can never die.
