Summary: Some things, it would seem, are not easily forgiven.
Can it really have been only two years?
N can't believe the changes that have taken place in Unova in his absence. Small towns have developed into their full potential, while larger cities have expanded in a reasonable manner.
As for the castle that he once naively called his home, N discovers it to be a crumbling ruin. Well, that's probably for the best. The memories that he has of it are unpleasant. Filled with false ideals, and built on untruths.
One thing that hasn't changed: The events of two years ago are still fresh in the minds of the Unovans. No one has forgotten Team Plasma's deeds, and the pain that came from them. Resentment lingers.
That fact, in and of itself, is troubling, albeit logical. Some things, it would seem, are not easily forgiven.
Worse still are the rumors that N hears. Bits of gossip. Evidently, Plasma has not died away. Though some members have reformed, others appear to have retained their misguided loyalty to the lies that N himself used to believe.
Perhaps Unova hasn't changed that much, after all.

To the Shadow Triad, the darkness is the garb that they cloak themselves in. Their home.
It's a matter of pride, to appear somewhere in one moment, only to seem to vanish in the next. It's also their job. A duty that they enjoy taking seriously.
Disorienting a target is always strangely fun. Tailing them in secret, announcing themselves, and then making themselves scarce before the target can react...it takes talent and practice.
The Shadow Triad have become adept at leaving those targets feeling frightened, as though no shelter will protect them.
Paranoia is a good trait to foster.
