Summary: And Ghetsis is still fooling them all.
It seems that Team Plasma is still around, and up to their old tricks.
That's a troubling development. N had hoped that, after two years, the dark deeds he'd inadvertently inspired would be ancient history. Not that he finds it surprising that old wounds haven't fully healed; he wouldn't expect any differently, there.
But for Plasma to still be hurting both the Unovan people and their Pokémon...it hurts him to see that nothing has changed.
Nothing much, at least. He does see some changes. But they're not reassuring.
Team Plasma has fractured into separate factions. Some see him, N, as their guiding light, trying to make amends for the sins of the past. He's still their King, their hero.
The rest condemn him as a traitor to all that he supposedly stood for before. They follow Ghetsis blindly, eager to serve. Every bit as misguided as N once was.
N doesn't care what anyone thinks of him. He was as deceived as the rest of them. Made mistakes. Hurt people, though he hadn't wanted to. He'd been fooled into believing that what he was doing was morally, ethically correct, for the good of all.
Is he the hero he once wanted to be? Hardly. N knows now that he never was, and never will be. He's not going to act that role anymore. A traitor? Perhaps, in a manner of speaking. But what he betrayed, turned his back on, was every lie that Ghetsis ever told.
And Ghetsis is still fooling them all. Deceiving them as eagerly as he did before.
N doesn't know whether he can truly stand up to the man who once acted as his foster father. Even with half of Plasma still devoted to him, he's effectively one man, all alone with one Pokémon. While Ghetsis has the other faction on his side.
But somebody has to try.
