Prompt: 9: Second fic's lyrical title starts on the same word that the first fic's title ended on ['Nothing']
Title: 'I've been Fucking Around While You were Saving the World from Nothing'
Author:
but_can_i_be_trusted
Fandom: The Legend of Zelda (Spoilers for 'Tears of the Kingdom')
Characters: Ganondorf
Rating: PG
Warnings: Language in the title
Artist: Robert De Long
Album: In The Cards
Song: 'Long Way Down'
Summary: No one so weak can save the world.
Rauru did his duty far too well; Ganondorf has never felt so weak.
But that sacrifice will do no good. Not so long as that puny swordsman, Link, is still breathing.
Let the little whelp run about as he likes. Let him gather whatever strength he can muster. Ganondorf has waited for this long; he can bide his time for a while longer.
Ultimately, nothing that the boy can do, and nothing that was done years ago, will be of any use. No one so weak can save the world.
Soon, Ganondorf will take Hyrule for his plaything.
Or else he will obliterate this land, and spare no one.
Title: 'Nothing Lasts Forever but the Earth and Sky'
Author:
but_can_i_be_trusted
Fandom: Doctor Who
Characters: The Doctor
Rating: PG
Warnings: Some depressing concepts
Notes: Crossposted to
100words
Artist: Kansas
Album: Point of Know Return
Song: 'Dust in the Wind'
Summary: There is no such thing as permanence.
You've traveled the length and breadth of this vast, unending universe, and nearly the entirety of Time. Seen and done practically everything.
Perhaps you've seen just a bit too much. For no one should ever see the beginning and the end. Because that unending quality that the universe possesses is just an illusion. The greatest illusion of them all.
Everything ends, in the long run. As you know far too well for your liking. There is no such thing as permanence. Every planet will be dust; every star will fade. Even universes can die.
It's all a bit depressing, really.
