Summary: This was getting even more intriguing.
Phoebe was scribbling eagerly in a blank journal when Ross joined her at Central Perk's sofa.
Grinning to himself, he watched her jot. Then, curiosity got the better of him.
"Say, Pheebs, I have a question for you," he stated.
She smiled, glancing up briefly. "Let's hear it."
"You remember all that fallout over that book you said you were writing about Chandler and Monica, and their relationship?"
"Sure."
Ross sipped at his tea. "Well, I was wondering. Have you ever written any fictional works? You know; since that one was supposed to be a sort of self-help thing."
"Oh, sure, I have," Phoebe replied. "I'm actually in the middle of writing a murder mystery now."
He raised an eyebrow. This was getting even more intriguing. "A murder mystery, huh? Can I read it when you're done?"
She nodded, capping her pen. "If you want. I'm still a few chapters away, so it might be a few days." Getting comfortable, she slipped her pen and journal into her purse. "I really get a kick out of writing a juicy murder story," she added.
"Because of all of the complexities you can come up with?"
"No. Because it's the one way that I can punish people when they tick me off, and not worry about the Karmic balance. Never mess with a writer. We can get away with murder. Literally. Nobody'll ever find the corpse, if there's no corpse to find. I've killed dozens of people that way, just because they rubbed me the wrong way."
It was all Ross could do to swallow his tea, rather than spewing it in a classic spit-take. "Dozens? Uh, okay..." He regarded Phoebe with just a hint of unease. "Have you, uh, ever been that mad at me before?"
His concern only deepened, when Phoebe turned to him, with a sly look in her eyes.
"I think that's for me to know," she purred.
