Song: '1921'
Summary: The secret that he swore no one would learn is closing in.
Dorian has done his best to put his past behind him. He's made a good life for himself in Kakariko Village. Meeting his wife was the greatest thing to ever happen to him. It gave him the impetus he needed, to break away from the Yiga Clan.
At least, that was his hope.
When his wife is murdered, Dorian realizes quickly that his past is not so willing to allow him to walk away. The secret that he swore no one would learn is closing in. And threatening his two daughters.
He can't tell the rest of the Sheikah about his former associations; they'd never trust him. Nor can he walk away, not when the Yiga Clan are holding the lives of his children over his head.
Dorian feels the squeeze. The pressure of being forced to keep serving the Yiga against his will, as well as the crush of being unable to confide in anyone.

Characters: Ganondorf
Rating: PG
Warnings: Contemplation of destruction

Song: 'Armageddon'
Summary: In Ganondorf's opinion, the time has come for that to change.
The land of Hyrule has been in unworthy hands for much too long. In Ganondorf's opinion, the time has come for that to change.
The Hylians and the Zonai are possessed of an almost godlike power. But they squander it away, for nothing.
He will take that power for his own, and he will show the true potential of the Secret Stones. If it takes full-scale warfare, then so be it.
Hyrule and its various peoples will come under Ganondorf's control. Any resistance will be crushed utterly. Every settlement burned to ash, every defiant soul put to death, if such measures become necessary. Ganondorf finds himself, indeed, hoping that it comes to such a thing.
Nothing breaks the will quite so well as annihilation.

Fandom: The Legend of Zelda (Spoilers for 'Tears of the Kingdom')
Characters: Rauru
Rating: G

Song: 'I Dreamed There Was No War'
Summary: He watches over Hyrule as the millennia pass.
Rauru drifts from one Sky Island to another, though he stays mainly near the Temple of Time. He watches over Hyrule as the millennia pass.
As the time goes on, he dreams. Remembering the day that he and Mineru first met the Hylian people. Meeting the beautiful and gentle Sonia, and making her his beloved Queen.
Together, they built Hyrule into something wonderful. A lovely, prosperous land, for the entire world to envy.
Those were wonderful days. Until that envy came creeping in.
Sometimes, Rauru lets himself wonder what might have happened, if the Imprisoning War had never come to pass. Whether he and Sonia would have ruled this land well, and for how many years.
He's grateful that, in the interim, the bloodline that they established is still strong. His power and Sonia's have been passed down across numerous generations.
Hyrule could have been crushed in the war. But it has survived.
Rauru just wishes that so many people, Sonia included, had survived with it.
Title: 'And Sit Down Nearby Me, As Long As You’ll Stay'
Author:
but_can_i_be_trusted
Fandom: Inuyasha
Characters: Inuyasha, Kagome
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Notes: Pre-1950s song
Artist: attributed to Charley Willis
Album: N/A; compiled 1921
Song: 'Goodbye Old Paint'
Summary: "That should keep us warm enough for a few hours," she told him.
A wicked wind blew, sending flurries of snow around like so many tiny white ghosts on the air. It howled and whistled and moaned. Under the onslaught, a small cluster of pines barely sheltered a small wooden hovel. Every now and again, a rogue gust would snatch at the curtain at the hovel's doorway, making it whip around wildly.
Hands grabbed it back, pulling it into place. Careful stacking of extra kindling, gathered before the snowstorm had hit, managed to weigh the curtain down against the wind.
"There." Dusting her hands off, Kagome sat back and eyed her efforts carefully. "That should do it."
She'd already worked hard to block off the larger chinks in the old wood of the shack. Nothing could stop the wind from coming through the smaller cracks; but the worst had been seen to.
Satisfied, Kagome rejoined Inuyasha, where he sat hunched against the wall furthest from the worst of the chill. "That should keep us warm enough for a few hours," she told him.
Inuyasha broke up a few twigs, throwing them onto the fire that had been built up in the hearth. "Sure," he muttered, shoving his hands far into the sleeves of his kimono.
Kagome regarded him for a moment, smiling. "There's no reason to be grumpy," she stated. "Nobody knew the snowstorm was coming. All we can do is stay here and wait it out." She moved in a bit closer. "At least neither of us is alone."
Blinking, Inuyasha glanced at her, before putting an arm out. He wrapped it around her, pulling her closer. Telling himself that it was just to keep her warmer.
"Yeah," he mumbled. "I suppose it could be worse."
