They’re always at each other’s throats, screaming themselves hoarse. And nothing ever comes out of it but more resentment, more pain.
More screaming, until both of their throats are too sore to manage even a faint whisper.
Neither of them wants to admit that they might be the one who’s in the wrong. Not while they can still point the finger, justified or not, at each other, instead of just coming clean.
They’ve both come too far to give up on the fight. So they fight all the harder.
Pointlessly.
